Samantha (Sam) Fain is an Indiana poet. Her first chapbooks, Coughing Up Planets (VA Press) and sad horse music (The Daily Drunk), debuted in 2021. Catalina Ponce translated sad horse music into Spanish, and Música de Caballo Triste was published by Cicada Editora in 2024. She co-edited Kiss Your Darlings: A Taylor Swift Anthology with Olney Magazine in 2022. Her debut full-length collection, Are You There, debuted in 2024 with Bad Betty Press.
Sam received her Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from Franklin College and her Master of Fine Arts in poetry from Bowling Green State University. She has received fellowships from the Chautauqua Institution and the New York State Summer Writers Institute and is a Best-of-the-Net and Pushcart-nominated poet. Sam's work has appeared in The Indianapolis Review, A Flame Called Indiana: An Anthology of Contemporary Hoosier Writing, Hooligan Magazine, Peach Mag, 8 Poems, and others. |
